Overview

Girl Scouts of Connecticut is a mission-driven organization focused on building confidence, leadership, and life skills in girls across the state. As digital platforms continue to shape how families discover and engage with organizations, GSOFCT sought a strategic partner to help modernize their online presence - while staying deeply rooted in authenticity, community, and real Girl Scout experiences. 


Since 2024, DMS has worked closely with GSOFCT to develop a cohesive, multi-channel digital strategy designed to increase awareness, foster connection, and support key initiatives such as membership growth and cookie sales.


Challenge

Girl Scouts of Connecticut needed to expand their influence across multiple digital platforms to better reach modern families with young children - while maintaining trust, authenticity, and alignment with their long-standing mission.

Through Ongoing Monthly Services (OMS), every element - from content to campaigns - was thoughtfully planned to work together seamlessly. 


Launching TikTok:

A Year-Round Storytelling Channel

Together, we launched Girl Scouts of Connecticut’s TikTok presence as a dedicated space for authentic, engaging video content. By spotlighting real scouts and genuine moments, the channel became a true reflection of what Girl Scouts offers - confidence, creativity, friendship, and growth. 


This approach positioned the brand as relatable and modern while remaining mission-driven, helping families see themselves in the stories being told. 


Campaign Highlight:

Pass the Cookie

To deepen emotional connection and community engagement, we developed the Pass the Cookie campaign - centered on nostalgia, family traditions, and multi-generational storytelling. 


By featuring former and current Girl Scouts across generations, the campaign celebrated shared experiences while encouraging families to continue the tradition. The result was content that felt personal, meaningful, and naturally shareable - supporting both brand affinity and cookie sales.

Influencer Campaigns
& Partnerships

Working with an influencer marketing team, we activated a network of small and mid-sized creators across Connecticut. These creators brought diverse perspectives and authentic storytelling to the campaign, extending reach beyond Girl Scouts’ owned channels. 



By partnering with creators from different backgrounds and niches, we showcased widespread community support for Girl Scouts of Connecticut - reinforcing trust and emotional connection while encouraging cookie purchases.

Search, Paid Media &
Video Advertising Support

To complement organic content, we implemented SEO, paid media, and short-form video advertising strategies designed to improve discoverability during key campaigns and seasonal moments. 


In addition to ongoing Meta campaigns, DMS expanded paid efforts to include YouTube Bumper Ads -six-second, high-impact video placements designed to increase brand awareness and reinforce messaging at scale. These ads supported initiatives such as cookie season, summer programming, and membership awareness by delivering concise, memorable storytelling aligned with the Girl Scouts mission. 


Together, SEO, paid social, and video advertising worked in tandem to ensure consistent visibility, strong brand recall, and sustained engagement across platforms.

Mentorship & Education:

Beyond Marketing

As part of our continued partnership, the DMS team led two month-long mentorship programs focused on content creation for Girl Scouts interested in marketing and digital media.


The sessions covered topics such as: 

  • Branding and visual identity 
  • Advertising fundamentals 
  • Content strategy and storytelling 


Each session included hands-on learning and weekly assignments, empowering participants to explore creativity in an age-appropriate and mission-aligned way - while offering real-world insight into digital careers. 


The Impact

Through a collaborative, values-aligned partnership, Girl Scouts of Connecticut has strengthened its digital presence, expanded reach across platforms, and connected with families in more meaningful ways. By blending strategy, creativity, education, and paid media, DMS helped support both immediate campaign goals and long-term brand growth.


Award Recognition

In 2025, our work on the Girl Scouts of Connecticut TikTok account earned a CADC Excellence Award in the Social Media category. 


The award recognized a fresh, mission-led TikTok presence built around real Girl Scout storytelling, dynamic visuals of leadership in action, and approachable, community-driven campaigns. The account supported key initiatives including cookie sales, summer camp promotion, and new member recruitment - while staying true to the Girl Scouts brand and values.
